Going green is easier than ever now to do, and it's so simple! With all the famous stars wearing green t-shirts, I wonder if they know why they are wearing the shirt, and how big of an issue this really is. It's going to take a lot more than just wearing a cute t-shirt. Why should you go green? Humans and animals use CO2 every time we exhale. CO2 is a greenhouse gas, along with nitrogen oxide. Nitrogen oxide, which is given off by cars as we drive them and by coal-burning power plants as they generate electricity. Some scientists now think that the average temperatures on Earth could rise by between 3 and 10 degrees Fahrenheit by the middle of the next century. Air pollution is also a very serious problem, if it gets too dirty you can get very sick. Another reason is that we are running out of landfill space, which is where all of our garbage goes. So recycle! The main way that we can all help save our enviorment is using less electricity, and it's easier than you think. Just turn off all of the lights and turn the t.v off before you go to bed, this can make a big difference. Unplugging lights, computers, hair dryers, and any other appliances can really make a difference. We all need to use less so we can live a happy and healthy life. Green isn't a fashion statement, it's a lifestyle.

“Going green,” isn’t just a nagging issue. It’s becoming a part of our everyday life. It saddens me to see at my workplace where we probably have a dozen (exaggeration) recyclable bins that some people do not place paper or bottles in those retainers. In order for us to make a change, WE need to make a change now. We have to change our mindset and the way we do things. I never thought myself to be an environmentalist, but this planet will go to waste. We won’t have a planet anymore at the rate that we are trashing this place. I keep seeing new homes, and new shopping centers being built. But at what cost to our environment are we trying to make a profit. In some movies, the future is a dark, bleak, dirty place. Are the moviemakers just trying to scare us? I think we all need to be consciously making an effort every time we throw something away to see if that item can be recycled. They’ve even made it simple for us by allotting one big bin to put all your recyclables in- you don’t have to separate glass from paper and all that. Come on guys, green isn’t a color. It’s where you live.
ReplyDeleteI hear the phrase going green everyday and wonder whether we are actually going green or are we just nagging about it. Going green is nothing to play about and we need to act now to save of planet and stop making jokes of ourselves. There are also recycle bins at my job and the good news is that people are actually using them eventhough every body will not doing it. Life is a beautiful thing and we need to protect it.
ReplyDeleteI think people...really celebrities are using it just ti gain recorgnition and as publicity stunts. Surely does Kim Kadashian(don't knoe hoe to spell her name) relly care about it? Foe one, she is carrying a cheap grocery bag...if she were really for it she would have bought the bags that are enviromentally friendly or at least the once that raise money to save it. She has tons of money and would have done it even to match her outfit...lol
