Poverty got to end!

Poverty got to end!
Who can help to end poverty? We hear about poverty all the time; it is the major problem all over the world. However, hearing about poverty is not the same as going through poverty. If we really think about it for some, it may seem as simple as getting three meals a day and having a warm safe place that can be called home. Poverty means not only lacking basic necessities for existence, but also being deprived from a good quality of life. In our society, especially children and women are the first victims and most affected by poverty. The consequences are devastating, including hunger, diseases, malnutrition, lack of education and mental and social problems. Children are more vulnerable to poverty effects. Poverty exists all over the world it is not disease poverty is a social problem and can be corrected. We can save children and women from poverty by means of as individual donation of money on top of government help. Poverty, the lack of the resources needed to live a normal life. Those people with lack of resource can defeat poverty via our support. Donating money is one way of fighting poverty. If everyone donates a small amount of money, it would make a big difference in many lives. Government also can play a bigger role by supporting more organizations and elaborating on whatever system they use to reach peoples who live in poverty. We can beat poverty-we have what it takes! 1. Your comment on lack of education in those who live in poverty prompted some thoughts in my mind. As an educator, I see daily the importance of education in shaping a child’s life. While I do agree that a lack of education greatly hinders those who live in poverty situations, I would also like to point out that a lack of education in ANYONES life greatly impacts their future, both rich and poor, hungry and full, homed and homeless. I always get caught up in the “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” debates. Does poverty lead to a lack of education? Does a lack of education lead people to poverty?
While all circumstances are different, I really think that a lack of education leads people to poverty. Education provides both private and public benefits. By looking at the benefits, I think we can see the connection between a lack of education and poverty through all of the confounding variables that play into this discussion.
Benefits to the individual are clear. There is a correlation between higher levels of education and higher earnings for all racial/ethnic groups and for both men and women.2 Education provides opportunity for a more stable future due to job security. It provides people with the ability to reason, reflect, and communicate. It is a statistical fact that crime rate is inversely proportional to educational level.1 Kids who grow up in families that do not stress the importance of education are the most likely to be homeless, doing drugs, joining gangs, and ending up in prison.
There are also benefits to society when people value education. Higher level of education correspond to lower levels of unemployment and poverty.2 College graduates have lower smoking rates, more positive perspectives of personal health and lower incarceration rates than those who did not graduate from college. Higher levels of education are also correlated with civic participation such as volunteer work, donating blood, and voting.2
The statistics show that within each household type (single mothers with children, married couple families with children, and all families), the poverty rate for college graduates is about a third of the poverty rate for high school graduates.2 If we want to address poverty, I think it is clear we need to address education and make sure that all people rich and poor, homed and homeless, hungry and full, are given a quality education.

  2. its sad to hear about poverty in 21st century, poverty is something that should no be ignored globally,i would like to suggest on the ways to reduce and eradicate poverty in the world, first of all there is a need to improve and promote agriculture technology especially in the third world countries i.e. poor farmers should be given subsidies in order to improve quality and quantity to produce, improvement in education and increase in number of schools and programs, small scale loans should be offered to local citizens who in turn helps to promote local business, proper distribution of income within nations and governments i.e. income should be divided equally, also government programs that tend to serve people should be enforced to apply in order to solve those who do not have for example the recent universal health care passed by congress that tend to cover for medicare all Americans including those who do not have health insurance,i see this as a good program that helps to reduce poverty among citizens

  3. Poverty is defiantly an age old problem affecting people form every country. There will always be differences in classes. The true test is how we treat one another. I totally agree that there should be assistance granted to those who are less fortunate but assistance should not just be given blindly. As the old adage goes, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life." We need to bring skills to these people not just hand them a check and walk away. We go nowhere in society if we just blindly hand over a check as seen in our modern welfare system, where you have people who live on welfare generation to generation.
