Hunger

One person in every five worldwide experience persistent hunger, this is not the healthy appetite triggered by anticipation of a hearty meal, but the painful condition caused by a chronic lack of food. Tens of thousand die of starvation each day, one every two seconds.

In the United States, where most people enjoy a life of relative abundance, millions of children are hungry at least some of the time. Over 13 million U.S. children do not know where their next meal is coming from or when it will come.

In developed countries, the primary cause of hunger is food poverty. People are hungery not because there is no food nearby to purchase, but because the lack sufficient money with which to buy nutritious food and pay for other necessitiies, such as clothing, housing, medicinces , and utilities.

What can we do about this tragedy, You and I might ask ourselves, what possible difference can one person make? can one person's choice to recycle a bottle or to serve a meal to the homeless or to join a hunger-relief organization make a difference? In truth, such choices produce several benefits. For one, a single person's awareness and example, shared with others, can influence many people over time. Secondly, an action repeated becomes a beneficial habit.

  1. Church is one good way to help out people in need. My church allows donation all the time for organizations fighting hunger. Also, community service can help, such as volenteering in a soup kitchen. Hunger leads to so many other medicle issues and its unfair that anyone should have to go through this. Malnutrition can affect a child who is genetically expected to grow up intelligent and healthy, and it is a shame. Getting involved is a good place to start to help.

  2. The ability to obtain enough food for an active, healthy life is the most basic of human needs. Food insecure households cannot achieve this fundamental element of well-being. They are the ones in our country most likely to be hungry, undernourished, and in poor health, and the ones most in need of assistance. A high number of food insecure households in a nation with our economic plenty means that the fruits of our economy, and the benefits of public and private programs for needy people, are not yet reaching millions of low-income people who are at great risk. It is very shame to hear about hunger in great land America. People don’t even talk about it everyone should come to the reality world and help those how are needed our help. We can volunteer in organization and in such way we are able to stop hunger in America.

  3. this is a global issue, in most third world countries, there are millions of people who work all day to find some food for themselves and their families. the main source of this issue is the government of those countries, they are the people responsible for the life of those who can not efford to buy something to eat. in the U.S. however the government does help out, with the social security programs, and churches. i belive there where ever there is a food shortage, it is the governments fault for not doing something about it.
