Abortion

Abortion was legalized in 1973 and ever since there have been over 40 million abortions in the United States alone. Abortion is legal in the United States, just like slavery was in the 1800’s. But is it moral? An abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from a woman’s uterus resulting in death. In less than thirty days of conception the babies’ heart is already beating. If the fetus already has a beating heart than he or she should be considered just as human as you and me. If killing a person is considered a major crime, than why isn’t killing an innocent little baby? By letting abortion take place you are justifying Jeffery Dahmer, Charles Manson, and the Zodiac Killer. Those were all people who committed sick acts of murder. We punish those killers but yet we let people who have abortions go on with their lives. What are we saying to our adolescent girls today? That it’s okay to kill your baby because you don’t want to take responsibility for your actions? I understand the severity of rape cases, but it has been proven that pregnancy from rape is extremely rare. A woman that’s been raped has already been exposed to a brutal act of violence, should she be exposed to a second act of violence such as abortion at an already traumatic state? For women who are raped or simply cannot take on another life right now there’s an alternative to abortion. There are thousands of people looking to adopt everyday. Which is better to remember? “I gave my baby life and because I loved him, I gave him to the arms of a loving couple or, I selfishly ended my babies’ life”. Abortion is murdering, killing, or taking away a life. Call it as you which, it’s all the same thing. In the bible it says “The lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). Which means god gave us this gift of life. Countries such as El Salvador, Poland, and South Africa have realized that gift god gave us. Why can’t we just follow that trend as well? I know people may try to argue that it’s a woman’s choice but just think of all the innocent babies that didn’t even asked to be born being brutally murdered everyday.

  1. In today’s world abortion has become so common, almost a convenience, that young girls are starting to think that they don’t have to live with the consequences of their irresponsibility. There are people who encourage it because it will supposedly better the life of the mother or father because they are not ready but these are selfish reasons. It is not the child’s fault that I was created and I personally feel that abortion should not be allowed. The child is a new human being and has rights just like every other human being. Who are we to decide that a human’s life should be taken by our hands. If a mother is unable to provide for her child there are other ways to provide the child with a bright future and the least they could do is allow the child to come into the world.

  2. Is it immoral? It depends on who you ask. My view is that women should have the right to choose, because having a child is NOT and should NOT be an accident, or something just happened. Having a child comes with a lifelong responsibility and you should be well aware and well prepared for it. I never want to say or think that a child is “worse than a dead?” or “ was an accident” nor do I like to see children from teenagers who had them because they thought it’s a “cool” thing to do, if you watch Dr. Phil, there was a teenage girl who had been tirelessly trying to get pregnant, they asked her why she wanted to have a baby so bad, and her answer was that, “ because babies are cute”, we have a lot of self-care children, from mothers who just birth them and ended there. Having a child is the easy part; raising one is a complete story.

  3. The way I look at abortion is that only god had the right to give life and take life. Now a days’ abortions are so common people girls get pregnant and it’s like I’m going to the doctors tomorrow to get an abortion. It’s sad that the mistake you made another life pays for it. I think there are certain situation that I understand for abortion such as rape but if your going have sex use a damn rubber its’ not hard there like a couple dollars. I understand coming from a strict family it’s not easy but it’s the same thing as murder. When you have sex you know the outcomes such as STDS and pregnancy and there are many ways to protect yourself.

  4. I do not believ abortion is immoral. I believe that it is something that should be left up to the mother of the child. Now i dont believe that every teenager that likes to jump the gun, and ends up getting preganant should go get an abortion. But in casses such as rape, or parents who are unable to care for a child, should have the choice. Though i believe giving the child up for adoption would be a better choice, i still believe that abortion should remain available for those serious casses.

  5. I have to agree that abortion should really be left up to the mother and fathers choice. If one of them wants to help keep it and raise it then they should do so. However if the mother of the child is raped and fears her attacker many beleive she will fear and resent the child as well. How can the goverement be able to force you into having a chuld if you do not wnat to especailly if you were raped. I knowing being a girl and 20 years of age i kno wi coudl not handle being a single mother, working two jobs and going to school. I do not think personally i would have an abortion but i know if i could not give the baby what it need finacially, emottionally, physically, and mentally, then that babay would not have a good childhood.

  6. In my opinion a woman should have the right to choose whether or not to keep a pregnancy.I understand that some may think its immoral but you never know what type of predicament the woman is in. For all we know it could be because the woman's health is in jeopardy or that someone harmed her and the outcome of the situation was a pregnancy.

  7. I feel it is not for anyone to judge someone else's decision to have an abortion. It should be a choice of the parents of that child. No, I don't agree that killing a baby is something that's a good thing personally, I think it's really sad and unfortunate. But people have many reasons for making that decision. It's up to GOD to judge, not us as humans.

  8. When it comes to an alternative to abortion you speak of the thousands of people looking to adopt everyday. Why havent they adopted the hundred thousands of children living in and orphanage. I understand if a women is not ready to bring another life into this world. Its not much worst than birthing a child who will have no mother or father and have a higher chance at drugs, rape, crime, and murder. And forbid women to have a child that was conceived during a rape. If she births the child, she has an everyday reminder of those torturous moments.
