Abortion

Who gets to decide when a life should end and when it begins? What is the definition of life? Life is defined as a state of living characterized by capacity for metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction." A fetus has its own heartbeat at the age of 3 weeks, and has many other organs forming. Also the fetus responds to stimuli. It knows its moms voice and sometimes responds in the womb by kicking, twisting , or touching his or her face. A fetus may be attached to a host ( the mother) but most of their body fuctions alone or with some help from the mom. Some people claim that life isnt LIFE, until its viable life, which means when your born and fully developed. The "not Viable life" claim does not hold up because if life is not viable then why do people have abortions? If these babies weren't viable and would not grow up to be children then adults then an abortion would be unessasary to begin with. No body is born complete we grow, mature, change, and age constantly which mean where always developing, just like fetus do through the 9 months in the womb. Shouldn't the baby have a right ?

  1. This subject is very hard to tiptoe around, because no matter how you put it, someone is always going to object. I personally am split on this topic, as I feel that abortion should not be used as a regular form of birth control but I also feel that a woman should have the right to choose what should happen to her body. Of course we would always like to think that everyone should get a chance at life, but honestly, is that always the best choice? How often do you hear of children being physically/verbally abused, raped, or neglected by their parents? What about the young girls that are locked away in their homes by their fathers and forced to give birth to their father's child/grandson under horrible living conditions? How many times do we hear of infants being thrown away in trash cans or left at a bus stop in the middle of a blizzard? I'm not asking you to pick one of these out of a hat and pick which scenario is going to play out for the next aborted fetus, this isn't always going to be the case as some of those children could grow up and live a fulfilling life. The harsh truth though is that SOME (not all) of these women realize the situation they are currently in is unfit for a child.

  2. abortion is not that bad. i guess girls need to have abortions if they are unfit to take care of a child. i mean what is the point of bring a child into the world if you cant take care of them? its not fair for the child as well, who comes into the world and faces their young mother, who cant even take care of them. i mean young people should be more aware of this issue, and they should use protection to minimize the chance of becoming pregnant. however if they do, they should abort the baby as soon as possible so their lives and the baby's lives would not be ruined. but thats just me personal opinion.

  3. I absolutely agree that abortion should not just be used for a form of birth control, but i also feel as though it should be up to the woman to decide, not a court system or a lobbyist in congress, but the transgression of the female. A child doesn't deserve to be brought up in an unfit world and shouldn't be subjected to.
